Not entirely, it really doesn't make a case monetary wise but in terms of MPG you will actually see a small bump.

No, you probably won't because today's engines are designed for a specific octane level. Putting premium into an engine that doesn't need it only costs you more and nothing else.

Higher octane doesn't give higher mileage.
The only thing higher octane does is resist detonation better than lower octane. Which means if your engine has things like a high compression ratio, aggressive ignition timing, forced induction, or some combination of these things, higher octane keeps the engine from knocking.
Most modern engines have knock sensors, even ones that require premium will actually run on regular. They'll adjust ignition timing and other stuff to compensate for the lower octane, and you won't get full power. But you won't cause any damage.
In an engine that's set up to run just fine on regular unleaded, higher octane does absolutely nothing.
The only way you would see higher mileage out of higher octane gas is if the lower grade stuff has ethanol in it and the premium is ethanol-free. Because ethanol gives worse mileage than gasoline.
